Commercial Space Travel Demographics In Detail
A Section by Section Review to Provide Additional Insights
Spaceport Lounge’s properietary database hosts extensive attributes of every commercial space passenger – 116 so far. We find the opportunity to capture this level of detail for a completely new travel segment rare and compelling.
A total of 116 passengers to date have passed the FAA 50-mile boundary or 62-mile Kármán line. Data includes paying passengers, invited guests, contest winners, industry travelers, as well as spaceline employees and executives.
The data does not include NASA's Commercial Crew Program (CCP) or pilots operating Virgin Galactic flights. The NASA CCP-dedicated flights were excluded given the amount of NASA-control in the passenger selection. Virgin Galactic pilots are excluded because they operate the spacecraft in-flight as opposed to all other spacecraft operated remotely by ground crews.
